WHY YOUTHS SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN POLITICS
Hon.Skibanj who is the convener of 'Not To Young To Run Initiative" in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 01, Lagos state, said the time is ripe for generational shift.
He spoke at a conference in Ikeja Lagos with the theme 'Youth In Politics And Their Significance To The Struggle For A New Nigeria" to create awareness for youths on political participation.
Hon.Skibanj Gbeleyi said there is the need for fresh ideas in politics to replace the penchant for the preservation of self interest by politicians. Other speakers called on youths to embrace politics and prepare themselves better for 2023 election.
Hon.Skibanj Gbeleyi who was an aspirant of the Lagos State House of Assembly Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 01 2019 under the platform of APC Primaries purchased Expression of Interest and Nomination form, before stepping down for the the incumbent Hon.Hakeem Shokunle, after obeying the party leadership decision to let the incumbent via for second term.
While reeling out his campaign promises, Hon.Skibanj donated books and other educational materials to student in selected schools across the seven wards in Oshodi Constituency.He said the donation was to ensure that students have access to reading materials thereby aiding their academic excellence and ultimately securing their future.
He said the intervention was necessary to make learning attractive and take pupils off the street.He said the highly successful men and women all over the world had their roots in proper and sound education.He urged them to make good use of the items.
He also organized Health Care program to all his people across the seven wards in his constituency Tagged (LAGOS HEALTH MARATHON) in-conjunction with Medsynapse. Hon.Gbeleyi in his closing remark enjoin Nigerian youths to participate positively in politics so as to secure and build a better and greater Nigeria.
